One expert advises looking into what those incentives and rebates really mean

"We recommend that they look at the invoice price on that vehicle if they can find it. Understanding what the going price for a vehicle on the market, how much play there is, is important to knowing what a good deal is."

He adds researching reliable sources through the Internet or going to a company like his can help. Purcell says his company has access to invoice pricing the average consumer can't get. He also suggests researching whatever rebates and incentives are offered.
